October 01 October 08A nice end to September and start of October. Check out the giant onion (in the pictures) grown by John Griffith of McKinleyville from Seed! We are starting our fall sale on October 6th-October 18th. 20% off all plants and more. We have a great selection of spring blooming bulbs and mid month is the perfect time to get them into the ground. Once they are in you can forget about them and then be surprised by a beautiful spring show. Fall is still one of the best times to plant perennials, shrubs and trees. The best part is you won't have to water (once the rains set in) until next summer. See you in the nursery. Mary August 28 September08Can you believe it's just about September. It's already time to think about fall planting of vegetables, bulbs and all landscaping plants. It's one of the best times for planting here on the coast. The nursery is well stocked with a nice selection of trees, shrubs, perennials and grasses. Stop by and take a look. See you in the nursery. Mary July 28 AugustWell, we are well into our summer and we have not seem much sun. Everything seems to be later this year, the plums on my tree still haven't ripened yet and we are usually eating them by now. We still have a beautiful selection of trees, perennials, shrubs and bedding plants. Stop on by and take a look. Check out our Lemon Days Sale starting on the 1st of August. The selected great deals will be on sale through August. They will be posted on our website. See you in the nursery. Mary July 13 July at Miller FarmsHere we are in the middle of July. It is beginning to slow down in the nursery though we are bringing in new plants and gifts every week. We just received a beautiful new shipment of statuary, including some very nice fountains and somewhat scary gargoyles. There is still time to plant successive crops of beans, lettuce and many root crops from seed. We also have a nice selection of culinary herbs for your fresh summer recipes. Basil can now be grown outside in a warm sunny spot and can be planted through August. So come on in and we will see you in the nursery. Mary June 01 June08What a bunch of wild weather we have been having. We all received a taste of hot weather for a few days this month and then back to fog. I'm sure all the rhododendrons are much happier for it. It actually was a scorcher during that time and lots of plants suffered for it. Many of the Rhododendrons burned, but will recover just fine, the burned leaves hanging on as testament to the crazy heat wave. You could manually remove them or just wait for the new growth to cover them up. It is looking really nice in the nursery, lots of flowers and vegetables waiting to be planted. June is still a great month for putting in a garden, it's not to late to plant beans, corn, squash, lettuce and more and we have lots of plants already to give you a head start. See you in the nursery.
